Paintings By Leonardo da Vinci

Why I like Leonardo Da Vinci so much
Portrait by Francesco Melzi.

Leonardo da Vinci was a modern day Renaissance man. April 15, 1452 - May 2, 1519.
Da Vinci was a profound inventor and painter. He has several classic pieces of art and is credited for numerous inventions, some that are still in use even in this day and age.

The Mona Lisa

The Mona Lisa is another iconic painting by Leonardo da Vinci. This painting is surrounded in mystery. The painting is rumored to be a portrait of Lisa Gherardini, wife of Francesco del Giocondo. Del Giocondo is thought to have commissioned the art work but no one knows for sure. No matter who Da Vinci painted the picture for, you can not mistake the beauty and the impact that this painting has had on society and our intrigue with it. Testament to the creativity and genius of Da Vinci.

Annunciation

The Annunciation is thought to be one of Da vinci's earliest works. This painting depicts, the Angel Gabriel and his message to Mary that she would give birth to a son named Jesus. who will come to save mankind. As with the Last Supper, Da vinci used a story out of the Bible to create this stunning piece of art.
